History

  • Hammel Møbelfabrik A/S is founded by Verner Kristensen and Søren Didriksen.

    1961

  • Torben Kristensen takes over the management following his father’s death.

    2000

  • Dania Capital acquires the company after suspension of payments in November 2003.

    2004

  • Production and administration are brought together at the present address at Anbækvej in Hammel.

    2005

  • On 3 November, a group of investors led by Hans Houlind acquire the company.

    2009

  • On 4 October, Hammel Furniture acquires all the activities in the furniture manufacturer Gangsø Møbler. Gangsø’s administration and production are transferred from Fårvang to Hammel Furniture’s premises on Anbækvej.

    2010

  • Change of ownership. Jens-Ole Staghøj is appointed CEO, and Hans Houlind becomes chairman of the Board of Directors. The current group of owners consists of NAB Kapital ApS, Houlind Holding ApS, SH2004 A/S and J.O. Staghøj Holding ApS.

    2014

  • Jon Knudsen is appointed chairman of the Board of Directors.

    2016

  • Hammel Furniture acquires Findahls Møbelfabrik in Skærbæk. Production continues in southern Jutland with skilled and competent employees.

    2018

  • Hammel Furniture has secured the future of production in Skærbæk by moving to new premises, where there is opportunity to grow, as there is capacity of more than double compared to the old premises.
