Jakob Berg

Since 1988, Jakob Berg designed furniture for manufacturers in Australia, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Vietnam etc., and won several design awards. For him, the environment and superior craftsmanship were always important factors in his furniture design.

Jakob Berg designed the Jakob chair for Findahl in 2008. Originally, the working title for the stackable chair was ‘An ode to Børge’, and intended as a tribute to the furniture designer Børge Mogensen. However, the chair was not finally completed until after Jakob Berg’s death. And former managing director Orla Findahl from the furniture company Findahl decided to name the chair Jakob instead.

Born 1958, graduated as an industrial designer from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, in 1987.
